Genestealer Cult Infantry Squad

Round 2 of the LPL6 ended and Round 3 has started.
You can check them out here along with all the other entries from everyone involved: LPL6

My Round 2 entry won it's challenge, so now I can show them here:

All the infantry for this project are done, just working on the vehicles now.  Project got slowed as I dealt with 2 weeks of being sick and out of town this weekend for the West Coast Quake. After being awake 25 hours straight before finally getting home early Monday morning, the rest of the day was shot ;)  We literally had fire & ice trying to prevent our travel.

I'll post the first Quake game report tomorrow.

  1. Great painting as usual mate.. good use of Ghoul heads, HE archer bodies, IG guns and a real mix of other arm and such parts.. really look fluid ( as usual ) and natural.. congrats on the win!

  2. I like these very much, the colors of the clothes remind of old school Tyranids.

  4. These are brilliant I really like the colour combination. The models are great too. Did you construct them from a bits box or did you plan them out first and buy the models you required specially?

  5. Thank you guys!

Chris: yes, the colors based on the old style cult & tyranid schemes.

Neil & Mr.Lee: I came up with the assembly concept in my head first, wanting something with robes for an old cultist look, knowing I'd need the IG arms & weapons to be consistent for game play and bald heads (nid & stealer heads are just far too big) and some arm mutations of course. The high elf plastics I figured would be great for the bodies. A small problem is that both high elf torsos and ghoul heads are both 'socket' parts, so the heads needed to be filled, and neck & uniform collars all had to be sculpted.

Dr. W: Thanks! This round for me is some Quar. I love Quar... I'd like to do a lot more for that army.

  8. Love the work, a creative mix of bits to make the look you want. Plus you threw in an an excellent paint job and the bases are very well done. To me, that is what makes or breaks a figure is the basing. You can have the best painted figure in the world but without a good base it just never looks right.

  11. Thanks all! Very kind of you. I do love converting. I probably enjoy it even more than painting... which probably explains why I start more projects than I finish.
