Genestealer Cult Priests: painted

The Psycker Overseers are finished.
I'm really enjoying painting the short transitions from light to near-black for the chitinous armored alien-crab-bug legs. I may end up needing to paint a tyranid army for myself someday!

For this guy his face paint I drew inspiration from Magua, from Last of the Mohicans. With that tube in his mouth it wouldn't have worked for the face paint to cover the lower half of his mouth so i went for a band across the eye. Like Magua, this guy has supreme confidence, and a sociopathic disconnect that can't even conceive that the sufferings of others has any relevance. You can just see it in the pose. That, and the fact that he's used someone else's head as a psychic canteen on some sort.

More to come.. I've got a bit over two weeks to do the remaining 45 infantry and 10 vehicles.
So I feel a bit like the fellow above ;)

Speaking of Magua:

Enjoy the best chase & battle scene from any movie & my favorite movie: Last of the Mohicans.

Outstanding! Lovely shading with the purples and pinks not to mention a pretty impressive turn around from conversion to completion.

Spectacular. The mini's that is, though LotM is awesome too.

Dude,
You're painting like the wind. You are one with your brush.

I agree so much even the music was good in that scene....

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
I'm hard at work on the next step: the infantry: the human-ish ones. A little slower when painting 31 minis at one time :)

Bill- yes, literally. The brush may need to be surgically removed from my hand ;)

Angry Lurker: oh yeah, it's maybe my favorite score-soundtrack. All the aspects of that movie combine to make a masterpiece.

Thank you Garfy!

I love the way you have the shadows on the chest for depth. Also the blending on the scythes is just so smooth.

Great looking pieces.

I'm also very much a Wes Studi fan.

Thanks Coronado! I'm really enjoying painting the areas like the scythes and chitinous armor.

Thanks Psychosis! Yes, Wes is amazing. Great actor. Shocking that he wasn't even nominated (he should have won) for best supporting actor for his role of Magua.

-I had to look it up: Tommy Lee Jones got it for The Fugitive. I like him- he's a good actor, but Studi did so much with that role.
